The Church Street School and the International Contemporary collaborate to present a series of concerts in bringing together pre-professional musicians and members of the Ensemble as part of "The Hang" series.

The Collaborative Explorations series brings together members of the International Contemporary Ensemble and past participants of Ensemble Evolution, the Ensemble’s summer music program. Each show emphasizes collaboration between two performers in curating material that speaks to their individual practice and growth. The series carries the Ensemble’s commitment to mentorship and advocacy for pre-professional musicians.

JACOB GREENBERG
Pianist Jacob Greenberg’s work as a soloist and chamber musician has earned worldwide acclaim. He is a longtime member of the International Contemporary Ensemble, with whom he has performed throughout the Americas and Europe. Mr. Greenberg’s solo concert series, Music at Close Range, shows his equal commitment to classics of the repertoire. In addition to his solo discs on New Focus Recordings, which include works by over a dozen composers, he has recorded for the Nonesuch, Bridge, Mode, Kairos, Centaur, Tzadik, and New Amsterdam labels. Recent highlights include a guest performance of works of György Kurtág at the International Summer Courses in Darmstadt, Germany, under the composer's guidance; a recital tour with flutist Claire Chase; works by Boulez at the Ojai Festival; and solo and concerto appearances with ICE at Lincoln Center's Mostly Mozart Festival. Mr. Greenberg is on the faculty of the Tanglewood Music Center, and has taught at Hunter College, City University of New York, The Juilliard School, and the State University of New York at Buffalo. RAQUEL ACEVEDO-KLEIN
Raquel Acevedo-Klein is an active conductor, vocalist, instrumentalist and visual artist. She is currently a touring vocalist with Anthony Braxton for his retrospective Braxton75 concert season. She conducts for the Grammy Award-winning Brooklyn Youth Chorus. She has premiered works by Philip Glass, John Adams, Louis Andriessen, Nico Muhly, Caroline Shaw, Paola Prestini, Bryce Dessner, Missy Mazzoli, Shara Nova, and Aleksandra Vrebalov, to name a few. Raquel has performed at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Radio City Music Hall, Town Hall, BAM, St. Ann’s Warehouse, Celebrate Brooklyn!, National Sawdust and elsewhere. She has recorded and performed with the likes of Glen Hansard, Arcade Fire, Bon Iver, The National, Grizzly Bear, The Knights, NY Philharmonic, International Contemporary Ensemble and Mariinsky Orchestra among others.

ENSEMBLE EVOLUTION
Created by founder Claire Chase and longtime artist-in-residence Steven Schick, Ensemble Evolution brings a tireless commitment to fostering a holistic understanding of the artist as a global citizen. Through workshops, conversations, and world premiere performances alongside the faculty, Ensemble Evolution participants engage in music making, community building, and creative producing.
