Artist Residency at DePauw University School of Music

  • DePauw University School of Music 605 South College Avenue Greencastle, IN, 46135 United States (map)

ICE begins a year-long Artist Residency at DePauw University School of Music in Indiana! In September, the ensemble will give two free programs for students and a public interview, followed in April by a concert on the university's visiting artist series. Co-Artistic Directors Rebekah Heller and Ross Karre are joined by cellist Katinka Kleijn for lectures, rehearsals, and workshops. Students will take part in Pauline Oliveros's Sound Listening, with found instruments on an amplified tabletop; a rehearsal of Michael Pisaro's Ricefall(2), an ICE specialty involving community participation and falling rice on resonant objects; and a practicum class on concert development and production. ICE also travels to Greencastle Middle School to teach young students about composing for music boxes!
