ICE is thrilled to return to the gorgeous Banff Centre in Alberta, Canada, for the second annual installment of Ensemble Evolution.
Ensemble Evolution explores a full range of ensemble playing. Participants will perform established repertoire—featured this summer will be Olivier Messiaen’s Des Canyons aux Étoiles and Anna Thorvaldsdottir’s In the Light of Air—along with world premieres by composers George Lewis, Vivian Fung, Sabrina Schroeder, and Peter Evans.
Over the course of the residency, participants will take over the responsibility for programming, rehearsing, and producing the concerts, resulting in a completely participant-driven day long festival at the culmination of the program.
