Claire Chase continues her 22-year project, density 2036, to commission an entirely new body of repertory for solo flute each year between 2014 and 2036, the 100th Anniversary of Edgard Varèse’s groundbreaking flute solo, Density 21.5. For the third year of her ambitious project, Chase not only commissions and premieres part iii with new works by Nathan Davis, Jason Eckardt, Dai Fujikura, Pauline Oliveros, and Francesca Verunelli, but also performs this alongside density parts i and ii, to give the full scope to date of these immersive and virtuosic performances. Tuesday, September 29 : density 2036, part i . Works by Steve Reich, Alvin Lucier, Philip Glass, Marcos Balter, and Mario Diaz de Leon.

Wednesday, September 30 : density 2036, part ii . Works by George Lewis, Matthias Pintscher,Felipe Lara, and Du Yun.

Friday, October 2 : density 2036, part iii . Works by Nathan Davis, Jason Eckardt, Dai Fujikura, Pauline Oliveros, and Francesca Verunelli.
