ICE at National Sawdust | Perspectives : Boulez at 90

Hot on the heels of their Paris tour, ICE teams up with legendary bassoonist, conductor, and curator Pascal Gallois to celebrate Pierre Boulez’s 90th birthday at National Sawdust. These four extraordinary concerts explore Boulez’s tremendous work through the most colorful prisms: his well-known masterpieces, his close creative dialogue with his peers, and his incalculable influence on younger composers.

This limited-capacity event features twentieth-century masterpieces by peers and close collaborators of Boulez are rarely heard together. This special performance will be recorded live for an upcoming album featuring ICE and Pascal Gallois. Featuring the incomparably beautiful voice of soprano Katalin Károlyi on Boulez’s seminal Le marteau sans maître.
