Saxophonist Steve Lehman and pianist Cory Smythe work at the margins of jazz and contemporary music. Lehman has been lauded for his technical virtuosity and his dense and beautiful compositions. Cory has worked with jazz masters such as Greg Osby and important innovators like Tyshawn Sorey, in addition to his one-of-a-kind touch as one of ICE's star new music pianists. Together, they present this performance of new music, using the sound explorations of New York composer Alvin Lucier as a jumping-off point.
