Lavender Suarez, Administrative Assistant & Board Liaison

Lavender Suarez is a multi-disciplinary sound artist, sound healing practitioner and educator whose work spans through live performance, recording, installations, videos, compositions and workshops. Lavender has performed, lectured and hosted workshops at The Guggenheim, Hirshhorn Museum, Issue Project Room, The Rubin Museum, MoMA, The Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Fridman Gallery, and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute among other venues. She studied Deep Listening with its founder Pauline Oliveros while volunteering at The Deep Listening Institute. In 2016 she created the full curriculum and was lead teacher for a ten-week/fifty hour class for children about the scientific and artistic aspects of sound. In 2019 she received the "Florasonic" sound art commission as administered by Experimental Sound Studio in Chicago, IL. She is a 2020 Pioneer Works music artist resident. Lavender has albums and recordings featured on the labels Ecstatic Peace!, RVNG Intl, Primitive Languages, and Hot Releases.

With a previous background as an admin assistant for visionary free jazz record label ESP-DISK' and a prominent entertainment writer/producer (Law & Order, Blue Bloods) Lavender brings her experience in managing creative endeavors to International Contemporary Ensemble.
