*Tickets go on sale shortly*
$20 General / $15 The Kitchen Members

An acclaimed composer and multi-instrumentalist known for his work spanning the worlds of modern classical, experimental electronic, extreme metal, and creative improvised music, Mario Diaz de Leon celebrates the release of Cycle and Reveal on Denovali Records with a one-night performance. The concert opens with live audiovisual set by Diaz de Leon, followed by performances from Cycle and Reveal by ICE ensemble musicians Rebekah Heller, Claire Chase, and Joshua Rubin. Talea Ensemble share the bill, performing Diaz de Leon's "Sacrament".

This event is presented by The Kitchen, and takes place at the Queenslab space in Ridgewood.

Cycle and Reveal is the fourth full length album by Mario Diaz de Leon, and moves from hypnotic repetitions that radically collide with colorful outbursts to primal, incantatory, and improvisatory sonic landscapes. Noted for their bold combination of acoustic instruments and electronics, his collaborations with ICE have been celebrated over the last decade for their “hallucinatory intensity” (New York Times), “snarling exuberance” (Pitchfork), “helter-skelter, electronically enhanced cadenzas” (New Yorker Magazine), and coupling of “crystalline clarity with the disorienting turbulence of a sonic vortex” (Wire Magazine).
