OpenICE at Abrons Arts Center | Small Talks: Alice Teyssier and Ryan Muncy

Two of ICE's newest members are already establishing themselves as leading advocates of their instruments. Alice Teyssier's extraordinary talent overflows as both and expert vocalist as well as one of the top flutists of her generation. Ryan Muncy has commissioned and premiered many important works for saxophone, an underrepresented instrument in contemporary music. Together, joined by trumpeter Peter Evans, they present a program of diverse and short works that open new realms of sonic styles and poetic meaning.

Andrea Agostini (b.1975): Gli atomi che s'accendevano e radiavano (2009) for baritone saxophone and electronics

Morgan Krauss (b.1985): Overcast in the purest of hues, Mvts. I and III (2013) for baritone saxophone and bass flute

Bradley Rosen: new work (2015) (World Premiere) for flute and saxophone

Toshio Hosokawa (b.1955): "Memory" from Three Love Songs (2005) for voice and alto saxophone

Malin Bang (b.1974): Alpha Waves (2008) for alto flute

Marcos Balter (b.1974): The Landscape of Fear (2014) (World Premiere) for sopranino saxophone and piccolo trumpet

Wojtek Blecharz (b.1981): Small Talks (2013) for accordion reed box and baritone saxophone
