Peter Evans: Cut/Paste (2011)
Though the "ICElab" program is relatively new, the International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE) has long championed innovative new music. Just last year, we produced several concerts under the banner of "On & Off the Page," where we partnered with composer-performers who blur the line between written and improvised music.
One of those concerts, from March 16, 2010 at New York's (le) Poisson Rouge, ICE joined four superstars of the downtown improvisation scene — Steve Lehman, Weasel Walter, and ICE members Cory Smythe and Peter Evans — for "Cut/Paste," an evening of brand new compositions/improvisations.
