One of the highlights of the recent Miller Theatre/Morgan Library Stravinsky Festival was the opening concert, given by the delightfully diligent International Contemporary Ensemble—which, as its Web site suggests, is becoming a powerhouse of new-music programming on a Chicago-New York axis. (Did one exist before? Or did they create it? Either way, it’s brilliant and unexpected.)
Its next efforts are presented at Gotham’s Americas Society (680 Park, at 68th St.), Monkey West, and the Tank, where its young and expert players offer “3G: Tres Generaciones,” a festival that covers a swath of new and recent music by Mexican composers from May 2 to May 7. I don’t think you’ll be bored. —Russell Platt
