Lisa Coons

Lisa Coons’ portfolio is diverse—ranging from chamber ensemble music to pieces for welded percussion sculptures—but two concepts remain ever-present in her work: an emphasis on sensual and emotional experience, and a focus on collaboration as a means of shaping musical language.  Lisa studied composition at the University of Missouri-Kansas City during her undergraduate degree and received her Master’s from SUNY Stony Brook. Presently a PhD candidate at Princeton University, her portfolio includes music for acoustic and electronic instruments, turntables, traditional ensembles and custom-built sculptural objects.
