Carlos Iturralde

Carlos Iturralde

Carlos Iturralde is one of the most promising young composers to emerge from Mexico’s booming experimental music scene in many years. A student of the influential Ignacio Baca Lobera, he undertook undergraduate studies in composition in Mexico City before pursuing a Master’s at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. His music, which explores richly colorful acoustic spectra with an often violent intensity, has been performed by such leading ensembles as NEM and Klangforum Wien throughout Europe and Central and South America.  This will be his first project with a North American ensemble.
