Renowned composer John Adams occupies an important place in the world of American music. As one of the most performed of any living American composer, his operas (Nixon in China, The Death of Klinghoffer) and large-scale symphonic works have met with great acclaim worldwide. In this one night only event, he conducts the International Contemporary Ensemble in works by Stravinsky, Philip Glass, and John Adams, along with the jazz band arrangement of Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue featuring Jeffrey Kahane as piano soloist.
