Carla Kihlstedt | ICElab Premiere at Ecstatic Music Festival
Working closely with ICE musicians, ICElab 2013 composer Carla Kihlstedt has created a song cycle entitled At Night We Walk in Circles and Are Consumed By Fire, based on dreams and their mirror on waking lives. Her Facebook group documents the collaborative development of this extraordinary piece and invites contributions of dreams and ideas from her fans. She is a violinist, composer, and bandleader of groups including Sleepytime Gorilla Museum.
ICE will also perform At Night We Walk in Circles and Are Consumed By Fire on February 16th at Chicago's Museum of Contemporary Art on a program also featuring works by 2011 ICElab collaborator Phyllis Chen. Learn more about the February 16th concert.
