November 29 to December 1, 2012

OPENING: November 29th at 6pm at the KROME Gallery in the Potsdamer Strasse
"Bring yourself. Bring food. Bring a piece"
ICE makes its first Berlin appearance with a bang: CONCERT is a three day event that documents the various steps in the process of creating a concert—from the selection of the work and the rehearsals, to the actual performance and moments in between—all will be audible and visible to the audience as one event spanning three days. Swedish artist Bo Christian Larsson has created an installation especially for CONCERT that further blurs the usual boundaries between onstage and off, between the audience and the artists. ICE will perform works by major composers such as Steve Reich, John Cage and Alvin Lucier as well new work developed with young composers as part of their ICElab program. Musicians and composers are encouraged to bring music and/or an instrument or perhaps some refreshments to share in the breaks and thereby be part of creating new work at the Krome gallery.
Presented by Laura Berman_Next, SOUNDFAIR and the KROME Gallery featuring ICE and Guests.
ICElab 2013 is made possible through lead support from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, alongside generous funding from the Greenwall Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts, the New York State Council on the Arts, and public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council.
